For those who were asking how I prepared for the race, I'm noting 'em down for you. Well, the ones that truly mattered, I think. 😅
1. Try to train 3-4x a week and at least an hour a day. You need not to run most of the time. You may want to vary your training runs (tempo runs, interval runs, speed runs) or squeeze in core, plyo and endurance workouts. As long as you keep yourself active, your body should be up to the task.
2. Never miss on your weekend long runs. Try to save at least one weekend morning to do a distance run. You wouldn't have to attempt a 42k run right at the get go. It should be ladderized (10k twice, then 16k, then 21k twice, and then 32). It's important that your feet get used with running.
3. Don't neglect your nutrition. Eat the right amount of carbs, calcium and protein and learn to love veggies (I hate 'em, but I slowly learned to love them throughout the last 6 months). Also: Snag on bananas and other fruits!
4. Avoid alcohol during training! I think this is a no-brainer already.
That's it. Let me know if you need help with your running needs. I'm not a full expert, but I'm always ready to help. 😊
